Sistema de arranque dual: XP y Windows 7
Si no desea prescindir de XP en tiempos de Windows 7 y Windows 8, puede configurar un sistema de arranque dual con ambos sistemas operativos. Dependiendo de la aplicación, puede decidir qué sistema operativo desea iniciar y usar.
Preparación para el sistema de arranque dual

- Luego verifique si hay suficiente espacio libre en el disco duro. La instalación de Windows 7 requiere al menos 10 GB. Sin embargo, dado que instalará programas, debe proporcionar al menos 30 GB, mejor aún más.
Particionar el disco duro para Windows XP y 7
En el primer paso, reduce la partición existente de XP para dejar espacio para Windows 7. Esto funciona sin herramientas de particionamiento pagadas utilizando los medios integrados del DVD de instalación de Win7.
- Inicie la computadora desde el DVD, seleccione el idioma de instalación y haga clic en "Siguiente".
- En el cuadro de diálogo "Instalar ahora", use la combinación de teclas [Mayús] + [F10] para abrir una ventana de línea de comandos, escriba "diskpart" y presione Entrar.
- Después de un corto tiempo, el mensaje modificado muestra que ahora está trabajando con el programa de particionamiento de Windows 7.
- El comando "list volume" proporciona una descripción general de las unidades disponibles. Para instalar, seleccione la unidad de sistema anterior etiquetada "C" usando el número anterior.
- Para hacer esto, use el comando "seleccionar volumen 1". Luego ingrese el comando "reducir" y espere el proceso. La herramienta ahora reduce la partición actual aproximadamente a la mitad, creando espacio para Windows 7.
- Luego escriba "salir" dos veces seguidas para salir de Diskpart y la línea de comando.
Instale Windows 7 como sistema operativo de arranque dual en XP
- De vuelta en el programa de instalación, haga clic en "Instalar ahora", acepte las condiciones de la licencia y seleccione la variante "Definido por el usuario" en el siguiente cuadro de diálogo.
- Ahora determine en qué partición se debe instalar Windows. Allí, seleccione la entrada "Espacio no asignado" para crear una nueva partición en el espacio libre.
- Después de hacer clic en "Siguiente", la configuración sigue los pasos necesarios. Solo tiene que realizar algunas configuraciones básicas después de la instalación. Windows 7 tiene su propio menú de arranque, que integra XP como una "versión anterior de Windows".
- La utilidad gratuita "EasyBCD" es adecuada para futuros ajustes en el menú de inicio o para restablecer la instalación.
Personalizar el menú de arranque para Win 7 y XP
Si Windows 7 no ha asignado una letra de unidad a la partición XP, no aparecerá en el Explorador de Windows del nuevo sistema operativo.
- Para poder acceder a él, haga clic en "Sistema y seguridad" en el Panel de control, luego en "Herramientas administrativas" y haga doble clic en "Administración de equipos" y una vez a la izquierda en "Administración de discos".
- La unidad principal muestra la partición "C:" como la partición de inicio y otra partición sin asignación. Haga clic derecho sobre él y abra el comando de contexto "Cambiar letra de unidad y rutas". Seleccione una letra libre, por ejemplo "X", y confirme con "OK".
- Ahora inicie la herramienta "EasyBCD" y haga clic en "Cambiar configuración".
- En el área "Configuración basada en entradas", seleccione "Versión anterior de Windows". A continuación, ahora puede cambiar el nombre a "XP Professional", por ejemplo. Asegúrese de configurar la unidad asignada anteriormente en "Unidad", en el ejemplo "X" antes de guardar el cambio con "Guardar configuración". Si la configuración de la unidad es incorrecta, ya no puede iniciar XP.
- En el área "Configuración global" en "Sistema operativo predeterminado" también puede establecer si desea iniciar "Windows 7" o su versión anterior de forma predeterminada. En el campo "Tiempo de espera del cargador de arranque", define el tiempo de espera para la selección al arrancar.
Sistema de arranque dual: desactive Windows 7 si es necesario
- Si luego desactiva Windows 7 porque le gusta más XP, inicie "EasyBCD" y haga clic en el botón "Administrar gestor de arranque" a la izquierda. Active la opción "Desinstalar el gestor de arranque de Vista" allí.
- Luego haga clic en "Escribir MBR". El programa no diferencia entre Vista y Windows 7, pero funciona correctamente. Después de reiniciar la computadora, XP comienza con su propio menú de arranque. Luego puede eliminar la partición que ya no es necesaria y expandir la partición original nuevamente.
- Atención: este paso elimina el cargador de arranque de Windows 7. Para restaurarlo, inicie la computadora con el DVD de configuración de Windows 7 y seleccione el comando "Opciones de reparación de la computadora" al seleccionar la instalación.
